Advice needed please
Our section c mares mane has pretty much disappeared over winter (hoods)
Is it.worth still.competing in hoys juniors qualifiers and other high level showing or will we be penalised?

you might not want to hear this , but i would say abandon the qualifiers for this year ,,,,leave the hoods off ,,, and try for next year ,,,, its not so much the hoods rubbing ,,, but lack of air to the hair folicles kills the root ,,, mud is better than no mane ,,, good luck sx

Start a regular (daily if possible )routine of stimulation by rubbing a good quality oil or cream into her mane at the roots. There are plenty of products on the market for hair regrowth but it is the stimulation that is most needed. Good luck and don't write all the qualifiers off it is still very early season. In the interim concentrate on getting the pony in top class condition and the way of going foot perfect. Go to some shows for the ring experience then everything will be spot on and no time wasted.
