How do you find a good one and what are the going rates for a lesson (1 hour)?
I am getting lots of conflicting advice so I would appreciate any advice/tips that people have.

The BHS Register of Accredited Professional Coaches will list those registered coaches in your area.
For an BHSII/UKCC Level 3 I would say around £35-40 an hour for a private lesson.

phone around, be honest and say what level you are, how your horse is and what you want to achieve. By talking to a variety you should work out which one you feel you can get on with, however they need to be able to walk the walk along with talking the talk! When you have your lesson if you do not understand what is said say, there is always more than one way to explain something and more than one route to what you want to achieve. Don't forget to ask about insurance!

I pay £20 with a fantastic experienced show producer and judge. The lesson is as long as it needs to be.
