Does anyone have any suggestions for products I can use to tame a frizzy forelock on pony who does not like water on his head .This pony would not let you bath him without going up on all four but now allows us to hot shower him but not near his head .Help ?

I would do some training, i.e. spend time everyday handling his forelock. Then proceed to a damp comb and drying with a flannel. It is a natural reaction for a horse to be wary of getting his head wet; it the get water down their ears it dulls their hearing, remember a horse is a flight animal and would have relied on it's hearing to detect a danger. This might help to get it flat.

Supreme Products High Shine Serum is amazing, all frizzy wispy bits tamed and left with the most fabulous sparkling shine ever, plus although a small bottle - 250ml - you need so little of it that it lasts forever so is very cost effective too. Also it doesn't leave their name and tail greasy like most serum type human products do.

Agree with waspblue re the serum , and you could try washing his forelock using a large lightweight plastic jug . Get him used to having the empty jug held against his forehead first and then when he's ok with that , half fill the jug with warm soapy water , dip his forelock in and let it soak for as long as he'll stand still and repeat with clean water to rinse . Might help if you can rope someone in to keep him distracted with some nibbles !Try and squeeze as much water out of his hair as poss whilst it's still in the jug so that you don't have it running down his face and then pull it back behind his ears to squeeze the last bits of water out . Apply the serum whilst the hair is still quite wet and then put a full face lycra hood on ( hair as flat as poss underneath ) again whilst the hair is still damp . When dry you will have a lovely flat silky forelock , but would advise to leave the hood on for as long as possible until before your class as frizzy hair can frizz up again remarkably quickly , especially in damp or humid conditions ( I speak from experience - my own hair is a nightmare !) .

For our native pony who had a very thick and frizzy forelock we used to wash it, add frizz ease serum, lather it in Mane and Tail and brush though with a come and plait up.
It worked to tame it but only for shows

You could also try a dry shampoo product.

Agree with Gill Wales - do try to tackle the core problem. With enough time and patience, most come round. I also recommend unclipping a headcollar and pulling over head to put on rather than unbuckling. I've found this helps to desensitise. Meanwhile, use a sponge rather than water direct and also don't worry too much about the water. It makes it frizzier!
