Can somebody please explain the rules for qualifiers for me as I'm slightly confused - At some show there is 3 inhand sections then a inhand championship - whoever wins the championship gets the inhand ticket - Then there is 3 Ridden sections and a ridden championship and whoever wins that gets the ridden ticket. SO my question is- what if you have entered the inhand and the ridden section at this show, you luckily win your class and go inhand champion so you get the inhand ticket , can you still go in the ridden? Because you've all ready entered it and you didn't know you where going to get the inhand ticket?

I can't answer your question but think the quickest way to clear up your query would be to call SSADL

From memory I don't think you can qualify for both but I could be wrong. As phillipa has said give ssadl a call

And I'm assuming that you mean for the Olympia qualification....

You can enter both classes and compete in both however if it is an Olympia qualifier and you are fortunate enough to stand Champion in hand and Champion Ridden in first round qualifiers before the Olympia Championship you have to choose which one to go in to the Championship as (in hand or ridden). This happened to us a couple of years ago. If you are talking about the SSADL Champs you can certainly do both ridden and inhand but again if you were fortunate enough to get an Olympia ticket you could not compete in the other Olympia Championship. Hope that makes sense and Good Luck

Thanks for info - I will email ssadl aswel today. It was just because I looked at the bakewell schedule yesterday and wondered what would happen as if on the same day you won the inhand and got the inhand champion ticket if you could then still compete in the ridden in that day as you had all ready entered, and then what if you won that ticket to could you then decide which ticket to take (inhand or ridden) and then which ever you didn't the reserve in that championship would get the ticket. As I know most people enter both the inhand and the ridden so I just wondered how it all worked really . Thanks again

Hi
You could go in the ridden if you wanted to but if you won you can't change your mind as you already had taken the ticket inhand. Second place would then be able to go through to the Ridden Championship for the ticket.
If it was one ticket only i.e. A mixed ticket and you won both the inhand and the ridden you would have to decide what you were going to go in as in the Championship.
