Our little two year old cat was hit by a car Friday. Frightened the life out of me. Has been to vets and miraculously after x rays all the treatment she required was some sutures to a laceration on her lip. However since we got her home she home she has slept most of the time, only had minimal amount to eat and I have not seen her drink. I have seen her use the litter tray once. They gave her metacam and I have only been able to get her to have one dose. She is not cleaning herself either. Should I be worried or does she just need time to get over her ordeal?

I know that in your situation I could ring my vet for advice and get it, ideally speaking to the one who treated the animal at the time as they will have more first hand knowledge.

Just wanted to say thank you all for advice. Cat has recovered miraculously. It was very tough letting her out again but I knew I had to. Just hoping she has learnt her lesson !

Cats are amazing, far more independent patients than dogs.. or humans! So pleased she is OK now

Glad to hear it, and I'm sure she will stay well clear of traffic in future.
