We collect our new baby on Wednesday, she is not replacing Holly , our much loved baby who we lost this March; but filling the hole she has left behind in our hearts. Skye is, as Holly was, a blue roan cocker spaniel, she certainly enjoyed her cwtches we shared yesterday I cannot add a picture here as the files are too big, however if I take a photo that is small enough to add I will do.

There is nothing more cuddly than a cocker puppy! I'm not allowed another one, too old for puppies anyway but OH off cockers now as many people we know now have working ones as pets which get lost on group walks, go off chasing other peoples's animals, and waste lots of time.
Lovely Skye looks to be a pet, or show, bred one and I'm sure you are a responsible dog owner anyway and will bring her up right gillwales so the above doesn't apply to you!

Thank you Sarahp, yes Skye is a show type, I do not believe in having a working dog as a pet, it is not fair on them. At the moment Skye is snuggled up against me cuddling her monkeybear, a toy her breeder gave her. She has encountered a hedgehog that lives under the manshed in the garden lol. She travels well in the car which is a real bonus as our last one did not, She has her last jab this Friday and then she will be able to socialize her and go for walks; I'm looking forward to introducing her to our local beach Puppy classes await her . She will be our last puppy so we intend to enjoy every moment.

Enjoy! We've had three, first a black from whom we bred a litter and kept a daughter, also black, then bought our last one as a puppy, drove all the way to Shropshire from Surrey for her, blue roan like Skye. Flopsy, (whose sire was called Peter Rabbit), Fidget and Flurry. Nowadays we have sighthounds, rescue saluki and a retired racing greyhound which have other problems! We had collies too to work the sheep, and I'd love another but we aren't a suitable collie home any longer. Best dog ever was a mistake, not ours, when working farm collie met a traveller's saluki lurcher so technically a lurcher, she had the best bits of both breeds. Intelligence and obedience of a collie but the sighthound ability to kip on the sofa all day! Very good thing she didn't get the small brain of a sighthound and the manic quality of a collie!

She is so cute, i bet she is bouncing around quite a bit now!! Into everything! No shoe or sock is safe within her reach. I'm certain she is a St Bernard cross as she is huge and heavy! Such a loving dog though, always happy and bright as a button. She has a wide range of toys from Doris the donkey, Charlie caterpillar to Monkey Bear. She come happily with me in the car on shopping trips and walks. My heart is complete again. A real blessing. her pressies are wrapped up and under the tree .
