Hi all,
General question here.
Those of you that show a pure bred of any breed, in your society’s ridden breed class, do you have to be a member of the society, or is the fact that your animal is registered sufficient?
Many thanks
Kay

As its registered, and complies with the breed standard you can enter and do not have to be a member. I have never been asked for my passport but you should take it. I have three breeds and could not afford to be a member of all every society.

I think it varies. Some breed societies require you to be a member to enter.

It probably depends on whether you want to show in breed classes at different shows or you want to go to the breed show for the particular breed.

Appreciably, it is expensive. But, becoming a member of your relevant Breed Society(ies) enables you to learn more about the Breed and - it supports the Breed Society, as all are Charities and most rely on Membership subscriptions and registration for financial stability.
