My show cob is barefoot and copes well with it. I'm hoping to start some county shows this year but have heard differing opinions on having a barefoot horse in county classes/with ride judges. I'd really rather not shoe her as when we last tried she pulled them off no matter what we tried. Any advice/experience?

I think that it's a silly rule if horses ' have to be shod ' as each horse is different. I have shown at county level barefoot in the coloured classes and won. I really don't think it should matter if shod or not as we are judging the pony/horse. I do know that open workers must be shod.
I'm aiming to do British eventing I hope you can do this barefoot ! If not I won't be competing.

Was out eventing last year on a Barefoot - What level are you looking to do? Just be80 You can definitely event at BE80 barefoot :-) I found it beneficial to not needing to slow so much on the roads.. I don't know where abouts you are or where you're looking at eventing, but I found hoof fillers beneficial for some of the harder ground (although I have a thin soled horse) Hope that helps
