If a judge has been struck off a breed panel and therefore NPS due to animal welfare issues, does this mean they should be struck off all other panels like NCPA, TSR, PUK etc.
I don’t have a hidden agenda with this message, there’s just someone judging at a show far away from us, that we were considering going to, but said judge was struck off breed panel due to an animal cruelty case.
I don’t want to be petty about it and complain, or whinge about it, or just not go, as it’s my daughters favourite show, but at the same time, I don’t agree with supporting this judge. One of my close friends was heavily involved in the case. It was horrific.

If this an affiliated show then i would like to think they would not be allowed to judge....different societies have different rules and regs on these matters....however ANY welfare / cruelty issues should IMO be taken very seriously

A lot of show secretaries will not necessarily know whether or not someone has convictions for cruelty - if the person you are talking about is on a judging panel you would have to take it up with the show and with the panel I would have thought as I would assume the secretary will have booked the judge from the panel book.

I am sure every society would take this seriously but the problem we face now is the Data Protection. Unless something is previously put in the public domain it is nearly impossible to find anything out however much this would be for the general good of showing.

In almost all instances, court cases are in the public domain via Court Reports. Also, from a DP point of view, you could argue 'legitimate interest' if you wanted to get the data.
