As title really!
Cut the cute section a's tail waaaaaay to short. Like, hock length.
I've obtained a fake tail but I can't see how I can possibly make it work, it just made her look like she had a mullet tail!
Any ideas anyone?

Not sure there is really anything you can do, coconut oil is meant to stimulate hair growth, but not sure how long it will take to repair the damage. However in the mean time make certain you use conditioner on the tail after bathing when combing out to reduce further damage. The gentle massage of the dock region should also help but this will take some time to repair. Hide the scissors!

You need to thin the natural tail and buy a layered falsie - that’s the only way you’ll blend the two together. If you can’t find a layered falsie I would recommend having someone out to do it for you

Strictly speaking I think you will find that false tails, while used, are against most societies' rules, along with other forms of make up. Yes I know it is used, but there has been cases of complaints and I know of one person who was threatened with removal of membership.
