Ok so I understand that the new rule states that if you have EVER ridden or worked for someone classed as a professional that you will ALWAYS be deemed as a professional. Please can someone explain how a girl has qualified for Pretty Polly in two classes but yet they openly worked/groomed for Jayne Ross only last year?! Seems extremely unfair when it eliminates others from the class who actually abide by the rules!

with every respect, please take your complaint to the relevant society. Agreed, too many different interpretations and slightly different rules for each society to start complaining on here- get clarification from the society, you mayfind they can do the class you are talking about as PP and amateur rules are very different

The 2022 Pretty Polly rule states:
“TO COMPETE IN PRETTY POLLY CLASSES MEMBERS MUST HAVE BOTH AMATEUR AND HOME-PRODUCED STATUS. ANYONE WHO HAS OPERATED AS A PROFESSIONAL SHOWING PRODUCER, RIDER OR GROOM WILL, FOR THE PURPOSES OF THESE RULES, ALWAYS BE DEEMED A PROFESSIONAL; INCLUDING WHEN ACTING AS A GROOM. IT IS EXPECTED THAT EXHIBITORS WILL COMPETE IN THE TRUE SPIRIT OF THESE RULES. THE SOCIETY RESERVE THE RIGHT, IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION, TO RECLASSIFY AN EXHIBITOR’S AMATEUR STATUS/ENTRY SHOULD THEY DEEM IT NECESSARY”
There’s politics to complaining unfortunately, although I don’t exhibit under BSPS rules I have friends that are in the home produced classes who put their all into it and I find it’s extremely unfair. This person is not the only one too!!!!
