Okay so I’m on a yard with lots of children. I am a teen myself. These children are all under 10, the yard, has a rule that nobody under 12 is allowed on their own (out on hacks, mucking out, in the arena etc.) now all the parents of these children often leave them alone, even jumping sometimes. Usually they are around 6-8 years old on their own. A few weeks ago someone fell off and I was the oldest person in the arena so I had to deal with it.
Also my pony isn’t allowed his shoes off as the stones on the way to the field would damage his feet. The walk to the field is about 1/2 a mile and he isn’t allowed to stay in for more than 2 nights a week. We provide our own bedding & food (out of choice) but don’t get discounted for this. I am afraid my pony isn’t getting all the food he needs & he is only allowed one haynet when he stays in at night (the horses are allowed much more) when there isn’t hay left that the yard provides, the horses get the remainder of the hay but the ponies have to have the scraps that are mixed with straw.
The fields are so wet and there is no grass but hay isn’t provided for them in the field (the horses get hay because they are closer, the yard owner can’t be bothered to take hay to the ponies) even though they are out 5-6 nights a week.
There are always at least 5-6 people in a 20x40m arena at once, usually under 12s jumping and zooming round. My yard promotes see sawing in horses mouthes and they jump very frequently. People leave poo everywhere and the muck heaps never get cleared and are like avalanches. We pay for 5 day livery including bedding & food but we have to buy our own bedding & food as straw and chaff are the only options otherwise. And my pony is only allowed in 2 nights a week. If my pony comes in on a Monday and I’m riding the next Tuesday as well my pony will be in all day as the field is too far to take him out then back in again by the yard owner. Sometimes out of easiness he is brought in first thing and has to stay inside all day (he doesn’t like being inside during the day). The yard is so picky with how much bedding, hay and food is used and the ponies always come last after the horses. The horses are allowed in as much as the owners want (they pay €20 more each month🙄)
Please tell me what to do about this situation, thanks in advance
