Have been trying to put some items on e-bay. Pictures will not load. It is driving me mad! Anyone else had problems or is it me as I am very computer illiterate (see i can't even spell)

You just have to keep tyring. I always think that you have to remember that ebay is global and you are fighting against the whole of the US who start coming on line from 2pm. I'm sure the whole thing slows down from then. I find best time is first thing in the moring if you can possibly manage it. Also make sure you make pictures as small file size as possible as it does not like big files.
Right click on the picture in your file listing to see the size in "properties" make sure it's less than 500KB
