Try asking for advice on the english springer spaniel help forum, you can reach it by going to north west springer spaniel rescue and its linked to it. Good luck

I sell tripe, and people that have fed it to dogs with itchy skin say that it's cleared up after a few weeks of feeding tripe.

Given that its been diagnosed as an allergy and you appear to have tried everything else. Have you considered anti histimine therapy during the summer months. This will reduce the amount of histimine in his blood which is what caused the itching. Most veterinary drugs are the same pharmacological properties as human drugs. This is because the drugs companies wont make drugs solely for animals as its not profitable. Vets are charged through the nose for medications and this cost is passed on to you. Google which antihisitime is suitable for canines and get some from tescos, it will cost you very little and put him on a weeks trail. Give him a good wash in some benzyl first and then there is a ceram called stop itch - its for horses but its very mild and would be fine for dogs. You can get it from snuggy hoods who are the sweet itch people. Its very very good. Do all that for one week and see how things are. Let me know how you get on .x

Another vote for a diet of tripe and NO dried or tinned dog food. Worked within days for me.

Start at about 200grms/half a pound don't cook it, and it has to be green beef tripe, not the white stuff from the butchers that would be no good at all!

I wish you all the luck in the world and am keeping my fingers crossed, I to had a little Jack Russell who went through this and through every possible treatment got worse each year, until in September last year she caught her eye whilst scratching sadly the eye ulcered so badly she had to be pts(she was only 5), we worked so hard to find a treatment that worked for her but it just wasnt to be, Good Luck xx
