I wasn't at the show so didn't see the class being judged, i know none of the ponies and I don't know the judge. However when a judge places his/her final line up they have chosen the ponies that they like best because of conformation, manners, movement, show etc etc and that is thier opinion, that is how a class is judged...judge watches ponies perform and chooses the ones in his/her opinion that are the best. Just because so & so's pony won the class dosen't mean that there was a connection between so & so and the judge. It would be highly unlikely that owner/producer of pony had dinner with or spent the night with the judge!! I don't think a judge deserves to be called facey just because their opinion didn't suit another person. And without judges there will be no shows!!!!!! Even if you don't agree with the placings just accept that those placings are that judges opinion and we are all allowed an opinion!!!!

I only have one thing to say on this topic, GET OVER IT. No i dont knom the judge personally but have seen her judge on many many occassions and never have i known her to be facey or judge badly and one thing no body is mentioning is the fact that she also had a probationary judge so she would have had quite a lot of explaining to do!!!! At the end of the day a judge gives their time for FREE we wont have shows to go to if we dont have judges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

facey as far as I am aware video evidence is not acceptable by the BSPS as tapes can be edited. If you had read your rules there has to be 2 complaints made before a judge is questioned by the BSPS, I do not know if you are doing this as a wind up we have had plenty on here before, however if you are genuine and really believe that the judge was facey then you have to explain why you think the judge was facey. You are not giving any details so why have you come on this site if not to stir up trouble. Lastly Joan Lewis is judging a HOYS qualifier this year and I wonder if you want to put people off entering.

I think the problem is that whilst we all agree that 'facey' judging does go on, Joan Lewis is probably one of the least 'facey' judges and facey has completely picked the wrong target. The simple solution is that if you know a judge is facey, then don't go under them. Facey says that not prepared to name the class or competitors but quite happy to name the judge - is that fair?

If people thought the judging in the small arena was bad they should have been watching Mrs S Bartle in the main school, now that was what I call bent judging. When a pony can hump wrong leg steer all over the place and still get high show marks is a joke and to win an RIHS class above lovely ponies giving really polished shows is a disgrace.

God im glad im not a judge! From my understanding, they give their time and knowledge free of charge, stand around allday either freezing or sweating and all they get in return is abuse, accused of being bent, mad or all sorts of other things. Im new to all this and didnt realise it was so nasty!
