Just wanted to warn people about permethrin poisoning in cats. Permithrin is found in many over the counter flea treatments for dogs, it is HIGHLY dangerous to cats. All these products do state that they are not for use on cats, but my poor cat just played with our terrier approx 5 hours after I had treated the dog for ticks. My daughter found our cat unable to stand and shaking in the the middle of the night. WE rushed him to the vets where he spent the next 5 days on total sedation, being fed with a nasal gastric tube. We are very lucky that he got through this, MOST cats are not so fortunate. Please dont use permethrin based products if you own a cat, stick to FRONTLINE and the like.

YES it was Bob Martins, I only used it because a friend gave me it, but it was my fault, will stick to my usual frontline from now on. Back from vets, has been given the all clear, we are all just so relieved!!!

yeah that stuff is awful. just goes to show what rubbish it is, the fact that the dog stuff will kill a cat. dont get that problem with fline, you can even use the small dog fline to treat a massive cat as the cat fline only treats up to about 7-8kg if i remember right! you were very lucky, glad your cat is ok and hopefully it will bring awareness to it x
