Oh for pitys sake give this person a break. They are selling a pony for their own reasons which they they are not answerable to you for.We all need to sell from time to time and if everyone who did got slated like this no one would sell anything. Mind your own business and let them get on with finding this pony a good home, price reflects the economic climate anyway. Refreshing to see some one who is realistic.Good luck in selling here and ignore busybodies.

I dont see the big deal in them selling her for £80, as alot of them go for less at the sales. would you critisize them people.

that is true i have seen plenty of pponys go for less than 50 but no body gets slated to be honest ther all giving it the big i am with ther bargain they got i think ponyman is wanting a good home for the mare n not thinking about the mouney so why dont you get off his case and leave him be ther is no harm in what he is doing he dosent interfrear with your buisness so leave his alone i just think your all been very harshon pony man havent you all got anything better to do......................

there is one difference here, at a sale the seller may sell for peanuts and not know what kind of home the pony will go to, at least the seller gets the chance to find the pony a good home this way and doesn't have to sell to the first offer if they do not think the home is suitable
what bothers me is those that sell stock off for peanuts and continue to then breed, maybe the poor market will stop over breeding, there are so many ponies on the market atm hardly any are selling, I could understand this if the person is giving up breeding and has found themselves in the position where they have to sell their stock

At least this person is being realistic and not expecting or wanting to make mega bucks from selling this pony. He obviously understands that there is near zilch market for selling ponies at the moment and would rather try and sell for very little to a secure home than sell for the same at auction and pony go to meatman !! Jeeeez, some of you need to come down to earth with a bump and live in the real world !!

If he understands that there 'is near zilch market for selling ponies at the moment', then why would he want to breed more? I find that irresponsible, to continue to breed when you are overstocked and cannot ensure a secure future for your youngstock.

That was exactly what i was trying to say, in fact thats what i did say, and if that makes me a busybody I couldnt care less, at least we have a voice and animals dont.

Some off us are down to earth which is why our mares are not in-foal, they won't be for the foreseeable future, I can understand this gentleman wishing to sell this filly, and quite honestly with it's breeding if I had the room I would be on my way to south wales instead of typing this. I do think the add could of been worded slightly differently, then maybe all this wroth would not of been brought down about his head, but on saying that look how many hits he has had on this advert.

Thanks for your PM ponyman, your comments have been noted. However, I've just re-read the above. You say that the filly is not what you would breed, but in the same sentence you say if she doesn't sell well she will stay to be a broodmare? I find that difficult to understand?

Ponyman, have you got any pics of this filly ? Is she correct type, conformation, movement etc ? What colour is she - white markings etc ?
Where abouts 'South Wales' are you - how far from the M4 corridor ?
We're Bucks/Oxfordshire border. Showing home. Few select ponies all purposely picked for the children for use now and the youngstock for in the future.
