hey i do showing but the season has only started for me so i have only been to 2 shows I show at a lot of county shows- Royal Welsh, Nps summer champs etc But also i like to support my local shows. My horse is very forward going and she does help me a lot to win at shows.

I used to sing quietly to myself when I was going around think it does some good for the pony nerves aswell

I'm doing every county show I can this year! Novice Highland Ridden and Highland gelding in-hand ;D I've never got nervous...I don't see why you should be? If you don't win then oh well, it's supposed to be fun!!! If you do win its an added bonus, you should be proud of your pony and be confident ;D but singing does work I used to do it when I was starting riding again after a really awful fall, took my mind off thinking about "what if.....this pony does this!" 1 year on I have a new pony I've had for 9 months, I'm showing....county showing!! Singing does work, just make sure you don't forget what your doing though!

I do showing and love it however it is annoying when you don't win and you did the best show completely agree with you there. i went to Berkeley show and our 3 year old welsh A won his class(7 in class good ponies) then i did my ridden M&M small breeds class on my section B and he went really well in the go round spooked at a very noisy tractor just after the change of rein. we were pulled in last friends pony only cantered on one rein and even then it was on the wrong leg. my pony came out he did the best show he's ever done for me. lovely dartmoor won deserved to, friends pony in 2nd(it's meant to be a welsh A but it's very narrow in front), Will and Daz 3rd i thought to be honest we'd be pulled in next but we ended up last which i really don't think he deserved. but then the judge was a very old strange looking man who had had at least 2 pints that afternoon. but afterwards when i'd come out some people came up to us and said that we deserved to be about 2nd and that they judged welsh A's and B's county level HOYS/RIHS etc. and that really made my day.
