Why are some threads removed entirely and some seem to stay for ever even when no one is using them.
No Gold Medal has been dormant for ages but BSHA Website has been removed rather than left on.
Why is this?

the no gold medal thread has been made a 'sticky' which means it will always stay at the top . The BSHA thread has been removed by request

Can I just add that we don't remove threads 'on demand', but that if it is requested that a thread be removed, the mod team make a joint decision as to whether the thread should stay or go, based on the reasons given by the person making the request. In other words each case is considered individually depending on the circumstances involved.

It's very difficult to see why anyone other than a committee member from the BSHA would have asked for this thread to be removed. Compared to many other threads it was not particularly inflamatory. I have seen content on this site that was positively libellous and it has not been removed.
As you did not contact me (as someone who posted a view) regarding this thread I can only assume that it was the request of one person without consultation to anyone other than your staff that assisted your view and decision to remove. The very name of this site describes what is held within. Censorship is a very slippery slope. Your members are disappointed.

Hollycane, I won't discuss individual decisions, but what I will say is that we don't delete anything without good reason, and we have to be in agreement before we make the decision to remove something. The members of the site are not always privy to the information which influences the decisions we make.
If you do see anything on the site that you feel is libellous, please contact us as that is against the site rules.

hollycane - as mods we can removed / edit any thread or post at anytime . This particular thread has been deleted by myself with the agreement of the other mods and Administrators because of a legal issue that is pending .
