I wish, oh I wish I were skinny but I am not! Have been trying to get reasonably priced M&M lead rein oufit but everything I see is size 10 or 12. I know some people may say well go on a diet then and I do try but the chances of me fitting into a size 10 by July (our pony's first big show) are zero! sorry just had to get it off my chest. I think I will have to go naked at this rate, though I don't think that would impress the judges, do you?!

Why not go for a smart suit instead i am about a 24 jacket ( depending on make) and my bosoms ( maybe not the rest of me!!) would make it in the sunday sport !!!!!!! I would never get in a PP or similar make unless made to measure and would take alot of fabric, i was lucky enough to get a ladies Twiggy (littlewoods) herringbone tweed jacket which matches sons and also have a suede suit, while it is good to look smart should be pony being looked at not what you were or bling it up with, i think a good looking pony can be OTT with anything loud or trendy and showing a m & m i prefer to keep it neautral and traditional.

Not sure I would grace the daily sport or sun somehow! Have even tried to look for smart suit but am looking for dark or olive green to match my daughters jacket, very hard colour to find! I fully agree that in M&M everything should be very toned down from what I have seen anyway. we are newbies to lead rein and am trying to watch as many classes as poss before venturing out with our pony. ( if we ever do not sure who is more nervous me child or pony!) Yes again I agree most of the leading lead rein outfit makers don't do bigger sizes, Made to measure can be so expensive. Will just to have to keep trawling e-bay.

Try raiding charity shops. It's amazing what they can turn up, even lovely hats. I have 3 lead rien outfits I've put together from charity shops, complete with hats, and I don't even have a lead rein pony ;D

Nursey...take your daughters jacket with you, go shopping find some fabric very similar, then go to the charity shop and get a suit and customise it....that s what I used to do....also you wont meet anybody with the same outfit either

I agree. I bought a navy skirt for £3 from BHS. A lovely quality Navy jacket from Alders for £65 and just a posh hat from PP.
Never won or lost, according to my outfit.
I bought a red spotted stock and wrapped it round my hat, and also made 2 button holes from the same stock. Very smart at a fraction of the cost.

Nursey, look on the brights side. By the time you have finished your first season in LR you will have dropped several sizes with all the effort which is needed in these classes. By season two and knowing what you have let yourself in for, shall never have a problem finding an outfit again. Good luck
