Actually Halfpass l have judged at the odd local show both in Wales and Sussex..and loved every minute of it, and l do totally agree that there are a lot of honourable judges something l have never denied, all l am saying is that it isn't all clean cut as a lot of the judges on here want us to believe..I would love to be a panel judge one day but recognise that my time with my given society hasn't been long enough, however you give me a hunter or chance to do the thoroughbred classes l would jump at the opportunity as that is where my personal experience lies..
I am also very much aware on how a horse or pony should move and look and be presented and sometimes this isn't always rewarded in the in-hand classes as it should be..Yes of course we all have our preferences but as you will well know the basics have to be in place and adhered to first...
As for the outside assistance l totally agree that this is and should be a no no...

some good points made on both sides, but i do agree the basics have to be there, seen alot in my few years in the ring, alot of good, some not so good, if we all liked the same thing life would be boring, but do feel rather insulted when a judge says something like "nice pony but a bit small for a B!" its clearly an A but hey!!!

Not only that, but she couldnt look more like an a, if she tried.....

ours is very 'A' too so was very insulted after all we got out of bed at 4am and paid to be judged, by a judge who didnt know what she was judging!!!!! i think that is wrong. If they dont know their breeds they shouldnt be judging them!!
