Information copied from A1SHETNEWS Our foal Timberland Chippy born on the 22/4/09, has been stolen from our field at Great Llyvos Farm, Crossash nr Abergavenny. New Park Mignonette "his dam" is very distraught, we are very concerned for the welfare of this poor colt. He is only 2 weeks old. The person who stole him managed to lift a post out of the ground, pull the wire up, and drag the foal under the fencing. How could someone be so cruel as to snatch a foal from it's Dam. Any information, please call 07773354449 or 07976613326. Thank you Yvette. Picture on www.shetland-pony.com/news/index.htm

According to www.shetland-pony.comthe poor little colt has been found dead in a field not far from the one he was taken from. I feel physically sick, what a sick sad world we live in.

RIP Little Chippy. Poor little chap, words cannot express how I feel apart from feeling sick at this awful news. Why are people so cruel? ? My heart goes out to the owners and of course Chippy's mum.

I realy cant see it being travellers, they would only steal if it was viable, not a two week foal. There has been recent incidents of foreign gangs stealing, more likely to be them or sick teen agers. Im not sticking up for gypsies but they do always get the blame.

i once had a foal get under fence and was in the field next door, mare was hysterical and foal was lying down i thought the worst, but it was o.k it must have been tired out trying to get back to is mummy, lucky i had only been gone a couple of hour, but ive heard of foals geting out of fields and being found some distance away.
