i avent got any information at all of my horses past racing career not even his race name,i know that if i had that i would be able to trace him through weatherbys so that is why im asking for any sort of information on either him or his past owners...thanks Doesnt he have a weatherbys passport?

friend had similar problem, ex racehorse bought before passports were compulsory, wetherbys papers lost and only has standard passport now...at you horses age, being a long time since it raced it could be years since it had its papers...i wish you luck as not easy when you dont know details

by the way most race horses were microchipped, but you wont know if they hove 1 or not if you havent got a weatherbys passport. i got this info of weatherbys. get your vet to check if they have one!

I think compulsory microchipping for thoroughbreds only came in 7 0r 8 years ago (and later for American breds) so probably wouldnt help in this case. You could get vet to run scanner over him anyway - you never know.

You could get vet to run scanner over him anyway - you never know. microchips became compulsory for racers born in or after 97, i only know this cos my mare was born in 96, and i was hoping she was chipped but she was a year early. i would look at dna testing, i believe its not all that expensive
