I have two shetland geldings for long term loan to an experienced home. I would prefer them to go together as they are great buddies but I would consider other options. They must go to a fantastic home as they are my childrens and it has been a hard decision for them to make.
5 year old Chestnut cream dun - approx 36". Would make a fantastic leadrein/ridden m&m for a small child. Has been sat on and ridden around bareback by my son but not broken properly. He would not take much to break in. Lovely typical shettie temperament - not nasty, loves attention! He has done extremely well in-hand, including reserve youngstock champ at the Shetland Performance Show when he was 3.
14 year old Chestnut with cream mane and tail - approx 34". Would be any childs best friend. Due to previous neglect he has quite a lot of scarring which manifests itself in white hairs across his back and neck. This does not detract from his cuteness but obviously he does not do as well in the showring as his mate. Having said that he has also won his breed class at the Shetland Performance Show! He does have a couple of small issues but they are by no means major and he is not nasty and also loves cuddles.
Both can be shown and are waiting for two new little friends to love them as my children have moved onto bigger ponies and I feel it is not fair for them to just be chucked out in the field - they are too good for that.
Please email me on Buttsmill@supanet.com if you want further details/pictures as I do not come on this forum everyday.
Thanks.
Karen
