So there we were my and my friend were hackin out n obviously i was on my 9 yr old bearing in mind when i brought him he'd been turned out in a field and forgotton about so when he came to me he was abit fresh to say the least, and my friends horse is 5, he's abit well scared of everything. A bus came up behind us and never slowed down pushing us 2 the side of the road, My friends 5 yr old took off with her and the bus was still to the side of us i had knowhere to go but try n go forward abit without this bus running me over and making abit of space for my friends horse to calm down. But my pony however was as good as gold, abit scared at first but got over it quickly, He really is a pony in a million. I love him lots!! He could of ditched me and ran for it but nope, He didn't he's my little angel. Edited to remove profanity in title, use of asterix did not disguise wording.

we get it all the time here, the number 253!!!! had one doing 60mph on a really winding road..he was flying towards us, i stopped him by making sure i was in the middle of the road while he was still far enough away to slow down, dangerous i know but had no choice as he was going to keep coming and i had kids out with me...he stopped and swore at me alot i told him he shouldnt be going that fast down there, is a country lane, he says its the $ speed limit, yeah really safe to do 60mph, with passengers who were shouting at him too, on a country lane renowned for horse riders and walkers, idiot, i do alot of riding in the maiddle of the road it is the only way to stop the $!

Yes, I also have kill your speed, Not my horse written on my reflective jackets shame he can't read! People in the car's there fine they respect you, often have kids in the back so there gawping at us to, but i don't mind that, it's not often you see them really, But bus drivers rushing to get to places, Well i shouted * and wanted to bang my whip against the window of the bus but it was to late, a passer-by said god you had a lucky escape thaere didn't you. I'd complain but i don't know who to go to?!

yes- i agree, some people have no appreciation of what horses are like. However, we must remember that, even though all vehicals should pass wide and slow, they are allowed to do the speed limit, whether that be 20, 50 or 70. i make the effort to thank drivers if they slow down, even if its not enough, just so they might remember next time.
Plus, it is us as riders that must make sure our horses are going to be sensible and not put drivers or ourselves at risk.
