We had our tack room broken into last night on a secure yard with YO living on site and her house very near tack room also have two dogs none got woken up.
15k worth of saddles taken all different makes none of them cheap.
They did the usual breaking padlock and then using wheelbarrows they parked van at end of drive and must have walked through field so as not to make noise.
We are all devasted and not all of us had insurance - the yard is in Herts please be careful people and take your tack home with you if you can.
I was lucky enough to be able to replace my saddle relatively easily so I can be out competing next weekend even though it has cost me £££ as have friend who is a saddler.
Yard is secure and we are upping security luckily horses were ok. If you need to keep tack on the yard try and persuade your YO at least to get an alarm as insurance companies are not good at paying up unless you have put in every possible theft deterant.
I imagine our saddles are in Ireland now..

It has been reported to the police and will speak to YO about reporting to Herts Horsewatch - did not know they cover tack as well as horses.
