They have arrived today with a vengance. Has anyone invented anything that keeps them away? They seem immune to all horse fly sprays and actually seemed to land and enjoy one well known product.

Yes they did arrive TUES didnt they. The horse I was riding, with a view to buy, came back from the hack with blood all over her!
Nasty critters. I am allergic to them, so if they bite me I have to take Zirtec fast, otherwise I swell up like the mitchelin man !

my mare too, they dont seem to bother the other ponies, i have taken her fly rug off to find her covered in them, it makes her so unhappy

nope your right i think, apart from giving them a good whack when they land on anything! always makes me feel better seeing them splattered instead of sucking my horses blood!!! EVIL CREATURES!

Yep the horse flies are here again - rode last sat morning and it was awful ruined the ride completely as my mare is only on walk riding at the moment and she was jumping and kicking about cos of the flies - they got me as well - no fly spray seems to work either.

I got bitten on sat last week and on Sun had to see the emergency Dr!! Its been a nightmare. Its still driving me crazy!
