i have a 15hh, 9 year old, hanoverian by pacal pikbube. he jumps 1.30 tracks at home with ese. however when taken to a show he wont even jump over 1metre and is relutant to move foward, and when my horse and i enter the arena for the second time he would stop and start rearing. we have also had problems with him out hacking as he spooks alot and again is relutant to move forward. he is also BSJA. need help fast.... any ideas??? thanks

How long have you had him and where did he come from and what do you do when he won't jump? Have you tried taking him to anything else but SJ? Does he do the same? Does he have bad memories of SJ or are you letting him get away with it then rewarding him by wrapping him up with a big haynet and taking him home? They aren't daft you know. Do you jump a lot at home? Too much?

could he be bored? my friends went that way years ago, all she used to do was jump her? maybe leave the jumping for a while?
as for spooking on hacks, has he always done this? is he not happy going out on his own? cant really say much more until you give more insight into these problems.

How about takeing him to a cross country course to give him a change

Take him hunting, it should build his confidence and give him something new to do
