My word, how can one person be so.... god i dont know the word !!!
I had forgotten a certain rosette in a bag, not a placing or society rosette, just a special award.
Now had a list of things to send out to people which have done, along with prize moeny reports, results to H & H and societies and had an email with no address wanting this rosette and a catalogue, to which they need to send me the voucher anyways with a SAE !
They sent me a snooty email ( i do hope they are ready this) slagging off the show and my fantastic stewards who didnt know about the said rosette !!! Come see me had you put your name in the book on the day i would have sorted,
Now after having a abcess and having tooth out today i havent been in the best of moods, i will post the rosette when i receive a SAE i advised person to give me a few day, which is a week i would say as been very busy and sure prize money is very important to you all and needed getting out,
I think it was very petty to get on a high horse about it rather than just ask or gently remind me after all i have 817 competitors to look after not just one, single handedly and i am not wonder woman !
You say it doesnt encourage you to come back to the show etc, with the attitude like that then dont in my opnion ! Very Rude, dont you realise we do this job in our own time practically free of charge, carry on as in a few years time there will be noone giving up time to do anything.
Why are the few rude that ruin it for the rest of the nice people
Rant over, off for my next dose of medication !!!

It's a shame that those people with the pettiest of complaints are often those with the smallest of minds, unfortunately unable to be broad enough to cope with thinking about others and the greater world in general.
EmmaJane we have to look on these poor souls with the pity they deserve, they are lesser than us and need our help, especially when they really, really need that ickle rosette and have no understanding that you are neither telepathic or a miracle worker or that actually some other things are a tad more important in this life.
Everyone who knows me also knows that if I ever preface a sentence with "with the greatest of respect...." it means I want to punch your lights out but I am raising myself to a higher plane in order that I can help you, poor soul and for which I will later reward myself with a f*g and a large G+T.
Benediction over my dear, go in peace and make it a large one ;-)

I was only thinking recently that not too far into the future there will be no shows left because running them is such a thankless task. We had a cup offered which was sub-standard so we told the people we would get a new one and send it on. After a few days they rang to complain that it had not arrived. I bought one at considerable expense and had it engraved not only with the winners from previous years but also their details - sent it off first class - what have I heard since. Not a willyy bird!!

its exactly the same uphere in Scotland, they are a pain in the arse, but most of us competitors do appreciate the people who put on and run shows, but untill you have had a stint at being on a show committee people do not realise the work involved, they dont see what goes on behind the scenes. Keep it up EJ

thanks peeps we are currently slowly replacing some of derbys poor egg cups as i call them you will see the huge sheild that we bought has gone to the godbers for a year its huge and quality and in memory of gradad, i put far more into all my shows that i ever get back out, just dont tell OH on equipics in ridden champ x

oh dear Emmajane I really feel for you! it must put a dampner on things, I just cannot stand that kind of attitude, these kind of people need to try understand the time and effort that is put in, I too would be having a few sweary words about things!

we were thinking mods were there to moderate, not bit*h!! how wrong were we?

I would of thought that being a moderator doesnt mean you are not allowed to have your own personal opinion as well as moderating comments written on HG. As usual the person being so unnecesarily rude is a guest !!

If I came across a site that IMO was b*tchy and pathetic, I simply wouldn't go there again. I would find somewhere more suited to my taste and use that site instead.
Actually I'm very proud of Horse Gossip. We give ordinary people a voice. Our members provide friendship, advice, information, encouragement, and understanding. And whilst we have the odd guest poster who seem to enjoy causing trouble, by and large the members of this site are lovely people. I for one get an awful lot out of HG.
If I didn't believe wholeheartedly in all the above, I wouldn't still be here giving my time to this site and its members.

er excuse me 'maybe guest', i think your comment is the reverse to how people view this site. im aure each and everyone of us have very real issues in our lives, some far more serious than others, having chats and making friends on horse gossip is a way of leaving day to day worries behind and concentrating on the things that we all have in common, our love of horses.

so, with so many problems in the real world that are so huge and upsetting, why do you moan about the unimportant things in life like showing? if you face so many real problems wouldnt you just be happy about everything else? why would you find the most ridiculous things to whinge about?
to me a person with real issues would not go on about the rubbish you lot moan about!!

how rude or you, you simply are not worth worrying about if you darent even come on under a proper title than a guest !!!! But then again we all need something/ someone to have a laugh at i suppose ! Im off out pointless showing tommrow at local riding club, intend on myself and son having lots of fun and dad running very fast with him in games with me cringing and i may even take the camera, so no time to sit here and Laught at silly people, off to do some pointless tack cleaning |

the moaning about it is! i too am showing at a local show, just about to pack the lorry, but i do not believe at any point did anyone say showing was pointless!! showing isnt anything important in life really is it?
or maybe that is the most important thing in life judging by some of the threads on here it is life or death to some!!

i'm still waiting for a youngstock champion and a reserve supreme champion rosette from last year,
i just got more important things to worry about.i would be too embarassed to complain about a special rossette.
