Hi Hope this is in the right section , I have been trying to get a saddle for my sec a which will stay in place! He is ridden by both my daughters a varying levels and I have problems with his current saddle, a thorowgood pony club, slipping forwards. Have been looking at both Fylde and Ideal saddles though not sure which would be best as it has to suit both show classes for first ridden and some whp classes withmy older daughter. Any help greatly appreciated

We use Fylde saddles, they dont move as the mould around the pony so well.
We have a Haydon for showing, and an Emma for everyday and jumping, as it has a slight knee roll to give the jockey more support.
both of which fit our section a perfectly - check out ebay there was one on there at a good price. (not mine!!!)

My daughter had a Samantha for her A. I also invested in a non-slip gel pad and one of the Fylde non-slip girths. She did all pc activities and showing in the same saddle.

a fylde samantha would be good they are perfect for showing and jumping because they have more knee roll to support. and they sit nicely.

An Fylde Emma for us, Fylde are so good at fitting them for you if you send a template of your pony for a very reasonable amount. This saddle just has a little more knee roll for jumping as well.

i have to say our new samantha is fab, rider sits completly different and therefore has much more control. she feels completly secure in it i would highly recommend! oh also bought fylde laced reins they are beautiful and stop little hands slipping.

we just tried our 15 inch Fylde Haydon on our 11hand section A and it fits really well. it's one saddle fits all with that one it fitted our 12hh lr/fr show pony, our welsh B show hunter pony and now our little welsh A and before that it fitted our friends fr dartmoor!

I have a Silhouette and it fits my sec A and dartie really well. It never moves, is close contact, has knee and thigh rolls and is a lot cheaper to buy than Fylde, but still the same quality.

I have to agree with everyone who loves fylde saddles, there are loads of second hand ones on horsequest and on here, at half the price

I have a haydon on mine but jockey doesn't feel too secure so think was have to purchase a samantha or an emma so she can jump too.

I have been useing Peter's ( Fylde ) swede saddles for 20 years and you wont get a better fitting saddle..... also you wont lose money on them .... I was with peter at the weekend as I took a friend who as had so many saddles and none fit...... I said she needed a med fit 18" and I was right...... haydon is for showin only ....If I were you just give him a ring 01995670332 tell him what you have said on here and he will advise you ......Good Luck
