Has anyone ever had an equine physio out to their horse to treat scar tissue and/or adhesions around a joint using laser or ultra sound? If so can you please pm me with how it worked (or didn't work!) Thanking you in advance.

I have one being treated at the moment, his scar is not on a joint though. He had some thickening down the front of his hind leg and over his fetlock, although he is perfectly sound and back in full work, we have left him out as much as possible day and night over the summer which has helped. He has had 7 sessions of laser, once a week, and it has definately softened the scar and underlying tissue, the hair at the edge of the scar stood out but now lies flat and the swelling immediatley around the scar is reducing. So I would give it a try. Glad we did, if you live in the north west I can give you my physios number.

My filly had 5 sessions on a real severe wound and although she is now blemised i could still show her as you could disguise it. I wouldnt have liked to have seen the outcome of if i hadnt had the treatment but did really expect it to have done better but like i said was quite a severe wound.
Anythings worth a try......

I hired an ultra-sound machine, from my vets, to treat my mares wounds, after she had her overies removed.
The effect was amazing and although the scars were still visible, if you looked for them, the skins was completely smooth to the eye/touch, with no raised/lumpy scar tissue at all.

My youngster had some scar tissue on his hind leg and i used aloe vera which seemed to disperse it, it was only a very small amount though :-)
