Haven't been to PUK for years since the stupid 'clapometer' fiasco so my vote goes to Equifest even though we only went for 1 day this year it was lovely & friendly with helpful staff.

The clapometer was the most stupid idea PUK has ever had. It happened the year and that year only i think.

Equifest for me too, went this year and it was such a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and easy going, even the delays in the rings were tolerated better by competitors than they would normally be and I'm sure it's because the organisers are so much nicer and more helpfull - they reaped what they had sown. Having said that PUK was supposed to have been better this year but there was vast room for improvement and on cost alone Equifest wins hands down!
Hurray for Betsy

In one ring, due to the judge being late as judging another ring, the organisers sent a golf buggy down laden with drinks for the competitors waiting around....can you really see Davina doing something like that? Hurray for Betsy

Yep Ponymum, they treat the competitors with respect and get it back tenfold! Mrs Whiteman has an awful lot to learn!

i joined PUk last backend and had to ring office with some queries, most unhelpful, again had some questions at the winter champs and was given the complete wrong answers, not very good pr work. yet enquire to equifest and all you get is a kind considerate answer and the most helpful team ever. Roll on next year, well be there defo.....

I missed the entry closing date for Equifest (by 2 days), emailled Betsy & was allowed to enter by email as catalogue hadn't gone to print, got confirmation of my entries at 7.20pm - who would still be in the PUK office at that time of day?

Equifest-DEFINATLEY!!!! I do love Puk winter champs though as I like Towerlands as a venue. Plus it makes winter seem shorter;-)- perhaps there is room for an "Equifest Winter Champs"?? I would also like to see some qualifiers at Equifest too- there is definatley the competitiors there now to make it worth while :-)

I personally wouldn't mind the top producers being there so long as they are treated the same as everyone else and don't receive preferential treatment. I think, judging by the way they run things, the Equifest team would be able to do this and it may prove an extra opportunity for the home-producers to have a decent crack at a qualifier.

There was a few top produces there this year i saw woundering about and some of the old PUK faces, that havnt been to Ponies UK since its moved, i saw and heard at Equifest. I just think Equifest need to open up more rings to stop the delays! On the friday, i was in the C class which was split from the Ds. It was running about 3 hours late!

Thoroughly enjoyed PUK this year, the entries were plentiful the atmosphere very friendly and relaxed. Congratulations to PUK for a wonderful show.
Only managed a couple of days at Equifest and I was very impressed. Congratulations to Equifest for a wonderful time also.
I think both organisations are listening to their supporters and changes have/will be made where possible. Between them there is something for everyone and there is room is the showing calender for both shows to run successfully without this PUK v Equifest. Their was evidence of the same competitors and judges whom chose to do both shows this year.
In 2010 I have pencilled in both show dates and look forward to competing at both for the duration.
I wish both organisations the best of luck and long may they continue.

Deffo Equifest. We only go to PUK winters as its close to us. If Equifest did a Winter at Towerlands then I would go there. We will always boycott PUK summers since the judgin in a HOYS qualifier was a little 'different'! Shame, as we used to have a really good time.
