As my mare is out on her own and I poo pick 3 times a day, I thought I would get a worm count done first?
Do you think thats ok or should I just worm anyway?
I have had worm counts come back in the past with 0 counts and the laboratories have rung me up and told me how surprised they were. 0 counts are almost never found.
I dont want to give her chemicals if she doesnt need them, as worming a horse that has no worms can lead to colic, as I had with another mare.
What do you all think?

Tapeworm doesn't show on faecal worm count, you need a bloodtest for them

Thats right kayjayem - but I always worm for tapeworm and all the rest in March, so dont normally do Dec as well, as mine all have negative poo samples.
I just wondered if I need to be over cautious as she is in foal?
