Haveing attended the BSPA Championships show with a friend, who had entered a horse in the RIHSQ we found out there was a last minute judge change even though the original judges were at the show, can anyone tell me if the replacement judges were allowed to judge the RIHS Q as i have just looked at the judges list and the so called judges ware not down to judge the RIHS Q!!

I herd a lot of people at the show asking the same question. Im sure if it does not state they can judge theses classes then surely they cant Surely if the judge is not qualified to judge these classes then they wont no what they are judgeing It seems like BSPA make up there rules as they go along.

I didn't see the RIHS classes or who judged as I was having lunch and gassing! There seemed to be a lot of judge changes throughout the day. I would think this is a matter you would need to take up with the BSPA direct - how it will effect those who got an early ticket is worrying.

I echo Tessy about this matter! I have been told that BSPA are not a very approachable society so good luck

one of the chairmans horse also went supreme ridden, looks like the comittee's horses had a succesful show as they do every year, maybe people have started to notice and are voting with their feet and giving it a miss. shame as could be a great show and super venue but classes way too expensive

I have just had a little look at the rules for you and this is what i found on the BPSA website RIHS JUDGES - ALL Judges for the Royal International MUST be selected from the BSPA RIHS panel. Judges - May not judge at the same show they are exhibiting. May not judge animals owned by relatives or business partners. May not judge past or present employees or persons who have ridden/exhibited/produced their animals. May not judge persons who they have given individual lesson on a one to one basis – group lessons or training days with or more students is acceptable. So yes if the judges are not on the RIHS panel then it looks like the rules have been broken

I attended both days and felt the show was more like a local show then a championship show which everyone goes out to qualify for! I think BSPA need to listen to there competitors and maybe there will be more then just a couple in the classes!! The entires were silly I was shocked the atmosphere was non existence i had a better time siting in my horsebox watching tv

::)if it is right that the RIHS Q judges are not qualified to have judged these classes at world of colour champs surely the classes were not judged appropriatly meaning the judges not qualified to hand out the RIHS TICKETS.if this is the case something should be done by the bspa.i believe the bspa should look into this .

Personally I had a great time - but I do this for fun and we did very well in our classes.
RIHS ride judge was Ms Aikon and she rode my 5 year old traditional horse beautifully and got the best out of him.
Paul Cook was also super and gave me lots of help to improve myself and get the best out of my horse and was very patient as I was extremely nervous at being given a set show which I never have had to do before and again rode my chap very nicely.
I also loved Addington - expensive but superb facilities.

HI CHANCER,T :THANK YOU FOR CONFIRMING IT WAS LINZI JUDGING THE RIHS Q,ITS SEEMS WHAT I AM READING ON HERE SHE IS NOT ON THE BSPA JUDGES PANEL TO JUDGE THE QUALIFIER.I AM SURE THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN UP WITH BSPA TO SORT OUT.IF SHE IS NOT THEN THE QUALIFERS WERE NOT JUDGED FAIRLY.

I spoke to them today as I was ringing to say thanks for a great time (which I did have) and did ask about the who the RIHS judge was, and they confirmed she is a RIHS judge and able to judge the class.
They said she has recently got married and changed her surname which is maybe why some people are confused.
If you give them a call, I have always found them very friendly and helpful at asking my questions.

hi this is your rihs ride judge. yes i am on the rihs panel its just the bspa have not updated their records. do you really think i would have gone in and judged them had i not been on the panel? honestly... i do understand your concerns but please also realise that comments on judges can be very hurtfull to the judges concerned. i judge because i enjoy it and we all judge for free you know. thank you to all who competed at bspa i had some lovely ponies forward and had a lovely day.

Thank you for responding on here to clear it up. Can we please now consider the matter closed since it appears everything was above board.
