My gelding has started to cough when exercised. It only started a wk or so a go and it is a small tickly cough that only starts when he is in canter on the left rein and then he rly only coughs in canter. He is perfectly well otherwise. He was at a show on Saturday and didn't cough at all! Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and should I be worried?

Thank u! He is on straw, but lives out at night and we have the newer straw. He does seem better after a gallop, but this morn he galloped on the left rein and was fine for a bit and then started to cough again! I'll keep my eye on him and if it doesnt get better have a chat with the vet! Thank u for ur advice!

My pony had a cough abit ago and it was only when exercised, got vet out he didn't have a temperature he was put on trimazipan for a week and ventipulmin and it was gone a week later, it must have been something he picked up when he was stabling away from home.
