On so many adverts of ponies for sale these days you see 'no timewasters'! I fully understand that people are just keen for their ponies to go to good homes but frankly I think it is sooo rude! Puts me off contacted them, that's for sure. Thing is what about timewasters when you are looking for a pony. I am going to put that on my next wanted advert. You contact people and they never get back to you, ask for photo's that are never sent, it is driving me crazy. people get in contact with you with ponies that bear no resemblance to the description on your wanted advert at all!!! I am driven mad by it.

i as a seller am fed up with 12 year olds contacting me wanting a prize winning palomino or dun for pocketmoney then dont understand why they cant ride yearlings.they are then horrified when i want to talk to their parents. maybe thats what the no timewasters are aimed at.

Im currentley looking to buy my daughter a new jumoing pony and am amazed at the mumber of people who do not reply to e mails or messages, if you have a pony advertised why not reply to questions from potential buyers ? Are there any decent 12.2 jumping ponies out there, found one buts thats in france , sorry to hijack your thread

Personally, I work full time and have my ponies as a hobby - on the rare occasion that I actually have one for sale, in this instance I have a Sec A filly foal for sale, it riles me that I have so many idiots contacting me about her. Time is very precious for me, and when someone arranges to come and see my pony and I make the special effort to be there having made sure everything looks well presented beforehand and then without even contacting me they don't show up you have your reason for the NO TIMEWASTERS part on my advert.

I think if somebody is genuinely interested in a horse they will phone rather than email. I would always reply to a telephone message but wouldn't bother necessarily with an email response. Just my opinion.

Just my opinion. On the other hand, the last pony I sold, the buyer contacted me by email first and asked loads of questions, then after I had replied she then phoned me, asked loads more questions, and basically I just knew it was the right home for Rube - guess I was just lucky!!

I wouldnt be put off responding to an advert that stated no timewasters. I am definately not a timewaster....wouldnt view what I couldnt afford, would turn up on time, would phone if I couldnt make it and would either make an instant decision or would phone as soon as I got home to let seller know if its a yes or a no. I dont think its rude to put it on an advert after all everyones time is valuable!!!!

I personally prefer the e:mail option. It is not always convenient to have a long chat on the mobile (driving, Asda etc!!) and if I havn't got my glasses on I have no chance with a text .. I also find if selling abroad it is so much easier. I have 2 going out to Germany this October..all done by mail and Bics /Iban payments

Well i am looking for a horse at the moment and i always contact the seller by email lst to ask loads of questions and telling them what kind of home i am offering, then if answers sound what i am looking for i then ring to arrange a viewing. Having said that after asking what i thought was all the right questions 4 out of the 5 i have looked at haven't been the height stated! !!! subsequently i have travelled nearly 900 miles over the last few weeks for nothing and i am getting really disheartened

I can see everybody's point of view but am still driven mad by people who respond to my wanted adverts with ponies. i ask for pics then none arrive. If you are really not sure you want to part with your pony why contact people in the first place. I am always wary of ringing people as i don't want to bother them.could well be driving etc but perhaps i need to get more proactive. we will never find a pony at this rate!

What annoys me is the people who want 10 million pics! What happened to getting in your car and coming to view, the old fashioned way? Pics never do the animal justice anyway! Guest C what sort of pony are you looking for?

people ask for photos, as everyone has a busy life, so why waste time looking at a pony that is not what you wont, no matter how much you decribe a pony/horse you can not see what it looks like, and what some say is correct, beautiful, good type etc is not always the way you see it, so if u can see a pic you are half way there.

I guess, but 10 million pics does get kind of annoying! We had a lady ask for pics of a lead rein we were selling, she did not like it from the pics, she came to see us a few weeks later and was stunned by a pony stood in front of her, the same pony in the pics! She bought it at 3500 and went home very happy and still is 3 years later!

what annoys me is when someone puts there horse up for sale gets a lot of interest then decides to keep it for the time being, i think there just testing the market also know as a time waster. theres plenty of them on here, just read the forsale adds and to top it all they then come on here and moan about others who have wasted there time pot kettle and black springs to mind.

i have taken mine off the market! nothing wrong with that circumstances change, the same as they do when you decide to sell, it is my animal and that is my choice i dont have to sell it if i have changed my mind! not wasting anybodys time a 10 second pm? sorry but its my right and i have used that right! as it happens i have a lovely lead rein jockey who has lost her ride on current pony for the time being so i have offered it to them until they get sorted which works for me as it means he will get shown!!

I currently are advertising my section B. I have had so many emails asking for photos. I reply promptly, however of the people who show no more interest only one has emailed back to say thank you for the photos but no thank you. It doesn't take much time to write a quick note back. Grr!
