This is not aimed at anyone, just a genuine question to find out peoples opinion on Judges at HOY's who are also competing at the show.

I know for a fact that one HOYS judge is not going show his horses at HOYS this year.
Other than that, I suppose the normal rule of "Not on the same day" applies?

The rules for BSHA and SHBGB are not on the same day but actually HOYS rules are not under the jurisdiction of either but their own so it's a bit of a toughie. The rules are a guideline.

I was always brought up to believe a rule was a rule not a guidline.

But the problem is that Grandstand Media are a law unto themselves. They don't follow the rules of any particular society. They can pick judges that aren't actually on the panels and allow judges to compete if they want to or (as last year) they can force judges to stand down.
