I am thinking of making reflective browbands for when your out hacking etc.... I know there are browband covers available but this would be an actual browband covered in reflective ribbon to save time messing about putting a cover on etc.... So just wondered how many of you think it is a good idea? Also how much would you pay for one?
Plus please could people measure their browband which have come on bog standard bridle? Eg - Pony, Cob and Full size.
Thanks

We have reflective bridles already for everyday wear. All my ponies have Libby's reflective bridles - brilliant for at home, don't have to clean them, can just throw them in the washing machine !
They are black with the reflective lines through them, but they are very effective - when my kids are riding in 'torch light' in winter in the fields I can shine my torch at them and the bridles light up like Blackpool illuminations LOL.
I actually paid £6 a complete bridle with reins from Libby's on Ebay .... bought 5 of them !!

I think a reflective browband would be moe trouble than its worth - ie. you would have to take it off for showing and then back on. Also if you have an m and m or even a plaited, hacking out un plaited it would not be seen. I think a reflective tail cover might be a good ida.

I do agree on them not being seen on unplaited jobs .... this was our shetland yesterday in his hi-viz bridle - if it were just his browband that was hi-viz, then you'd not see it, so would be a waste of time - There's already several reflective tail covers on the market ! Not something I've bought, but have seen them on the hi-viz stands are various events all over the place. Am sure there's one (somethings telling me it's 'Rambo' designed) that has a wee battery pack in it and LED lights ! Think I've even seen the ear veils that are reflective .. am sure I saw those at the Highland Show on one stand. I think there's so much hi-viz stuff available these days, you can pretty much cover them in neon crap head to toe !!

As I presume you make browbands as a business already, I think it would be a good addition to your range. It might take off, might not so long as you do not have to throw huge start off costs at it, it would be a complementary thing.
Yes there are a lot of reflective covers around, but they are quite ugly. Maybe you could do something that looks like an ordinary pretty browband during the day and becomes reflective in the dark and is not just yellow!
There are reflective bridles to buy but not everyone likes synthetic.
