OK be gentle.......... below are pics at my first attempt at showing a homebred Show Hunter pony, both mum and dad are graded Sports Ponies and he is Section C x Riding Pony, I know he has a plain head (he's affectionately known at home as Baby Bucket Head LOL) He is just coming up 10 months old.

Stunning. Deffo can't mistake him for anything but a SHP. Lots of bone, you will do really well with him. xxx

Could still go grey. When I bought my sp yearling he was definitely dark bay with a lot of warm brown in his coat, with clear white markings and no 'panda eyes'
Have a look at him now on the picture post ''love of my life'' at 5 he decided this summer to start turning grey (from the head back!!!)
I will find his foaly photo and post it on here for you, because I was 100% confident he was never going to go grey....luckily I love greys!!!
By the way, your boy is a very smart SHP!!

Just to throw a cat amongst the pigeons! Gay sovereign that very successful showpony, first appeared in the showring as a showhunter pony. My alltime true shp stamp was DenzilDuke.

Jolly nice - and looks as if he has very big ears which I always love as usually really honest. How big do you think he'll make?

He is a nice chap (can be a bit naughty mind in a cheeky way!) Hard to say size wise as dad was 13hh but is now shrinking as 22 years old and mum about 13.2 but he looks to me like he will make bigger as a fair size already and only 10 months old. sire is CxD bred and tends to throw bigger offspring
Nxx

Hi when was Gay Sovereign a SHP he was in fact the first pony to i think Holly Of Spring think it was Windsor and i did not think the shp were a round when sovereign was first out he was owned by John Milligan and ridden by a Dallimore child and produced by Andy Croft then sold into Scotland and then to the Hollings and was ridden by Adele Walker and Samantha Fry then sold to the McTiffins for Karen then the Bodens then Dr Thomas just always thought he was a SP ;D

read this thread with interest!!been at both ends from having a pony that was inbetween sp/shp (as a youngster)judges comments quite amusing.. one i quote'he's not a hunter get him out of my class"thankfully my daughters thick skinned ..to as he matured, consistently placed/winning hunter classes. We found that he was true to type and couldnt cross over to show pony classes so were quite miffed when chunkier show ponies changed tack and entered as show hunters. There is a difference ours stood in the line up like a bulldog, deep bodied shorter legs robust with bone and would take a child safely on a days hunting!!

i think the 15hh , 12hh and 13hh classes - the very top ponies are very good types obviously, most of the 14hh class are also beautiful SHP types but there are a few in betweens in there too....
