We went off to Fayre Oaks and arranged care for the 2 cats. They had access through the cat flaps and food put down twice a day as usual. One of them has not put in an appearance since our return on Sunday night and I'm worried. I've looked up the road, in the stables, outbuildings etc but no sign of her. She is the most adorable cat, a feral who we tamed at the beginning of the year when she was about 8 months old. She has become tamer than the hand reared ones, sleeps on the bed and cuddles all evening. Good positive vibes needed, please.

No news, no sighting at all, I'm afraid to say. Not knowing hat has happened is the worst of it. I have thoughts of her lying wounded somewhere.

That must have been great for you.
I just can't believe that Candyfloss has voluntarily left after only a few days. She has always seemed so happy and grateful for being domesticated. Even when she wasn't in the house she was hiding under the car or the lorry and would just drop down when we appeared.

I got my ferral cat back after 4 months. She will have had a fright with someone else being around - she will be lurking around so keep putting food outside for her. Know how you feel and it is hard x

Still no news, I'm afraid. I shout for her every time I go up the yard, in case she is lurking.

About 15 minutes ago there was a serious rattling at the front door cat flap which we have been keeping shut for the last few days to stop the rapidly growing kitten from escaping.
When we opened it in came Flossy!! She is looking good, although had polished off two dishes of her favourite food.
I can't tell you how relieved I am. OH said she'd never come back but I just knew she would abandon me and just kept hoping that she was able to return.

She spent the night on the bed, although she went out a couple of times during the night, no doubt a result of all the food she ate!! Trouble is that she happily goes out the kitchen flap which leads into the back garden but will only come in the front door flap as the dogs get over excited at the kitchen door and we have that flap shut to stop the newly rescued feral kitten from escaping through it in to the big wide world. This meant that Flossy was rattling it loudly at 3am and again at 6.30 but I didn't mind as I'm so glad to have her back.
She has wandered off this morning for her constitutional so hopefully she will be back later but at least I know she is safe and well.

What a relief roseview. Cats do their own thing, but it is such a worry when they stay away for a while. We don't have any cats at the moment ( the JR would chase them away) but I have lost a couple of semi ferral ones in the past, and always wonder what happened to them. x

She wasn't long before she came back and has spent the day just eating and sleeping, in between the cuddling and weaving around my legs.

one of mine turned up this morning, after being away for a month- he is a neutered tom- so why do they do it? frightens me stiff - he is very thin and looks dehydrated but otherwise seems quite happy- tucking into turkey dinner now!
