Luna is a 17 weeks old Fell. At the moment she gets about 50g of top spec and a few fibre plus cubes to stop her trying to steal from her Mum's bucket as she's not keen! She's in a field with loads of grass, where she'll stay til she's about a month past weaning as I'll then move her back to the yard with the rest of my lot. Hoping not to rug her but if she is struggling I will. I've been told she should be getting more I've no idea! Having seen a load of really fat ponies this year, and the new youngster that has just arrived at the yard I'm determined she won't be the same.  What do most people feed their littlies? |

I would carry on with the TopSpec, perhaps with a little fibre-based cubes and/or chaff and sugar beet over the winter and not much else (except hay/haylage when required). Fell babies don't need much in the way of feed - most of the breeders only give hay/haylage.  |

my section B filly has hi fi,speedi beet and sure grow plus hay and haylage

all mine have, basic hay chop (from feed man), speedy beat, a basic mix and Baileys Stud balancer with ad lib haylage..........I always follow the KISS principle....and they all go on to win medals!

My colt foal has done really well this year, he loves his grub!!! ;D i did have him on spillers stud cubes/fibergy/ and kwikbeet but i noticed he is on a fast grow so have just changed to spillers horse and pony nuts/fibergy/and kwik beet. so as not to force his growing to quickly and causing joint problems. A lot depends on what keep you have and what breed your foal is! ie: native or blood foal.
