Im very happy, ;D as my homebred colt, Hopgarden Hanky Panky ( Hopgarden Hidalgo ex Oakley Spring Amazing Grace) Got his NPS Papers back, and he has been given BRP Stud book papers, maybe not so exciting, apart from he is Coloured!! thought the highest he could possibly get was register!! He will be AI Trained, and going to get some semen frozen, just in case!!! ;D

That's really interesting as I enquired whether a foal by a CHAPS graded stallion out of a BRP Whalton mare could be reg NPS and I was told if it was a colt it would have to be gelded. I don't really understand the NPS rules as I've always reg WPCS either sec B or part Bred. Is Hildalgo reg with any other societies or were there any particular hoops you had to jump through to get this done? I would be glad of any advice as NPS were really as clear as mud apart from the fact a colt would definitely have to be gelded(which obviously I would do anyway if it wasn't stallion potential!)

I think it is to do with the percentage of RP breeding Kayjayem but agree they are not very clear at all.

im guessing kayjayem, that the stallion you used didnt have any NPS breeding? And the mare being NPS BRP gave the offspring entitlement through her lines only, and that would put the foal on the appendix, and the appendix only accepts geldings and fillies? OAkley Spring Amazing Grace is BRPSB and Hopgarden Hidalgo is RPS,( by RPM & RPS ) he is also PBA/PBW

Congratulations anyway though on Hanky Panky Yes Hidalgo is NPS registered( he is not the sire of KJM's foal ), as a riding pony register stallion. His dam, harvens ciboulette is also NPS registered as an register mare. IF there is no on insufficient breeding on one or other side, then the foal can only go on the appendix, regardless of the other parents status, and the appendix is only open to geldings and females

So if you have a filly foal that is out of a NPS registered mare (the mare is out of a NPS registered mare but by a welsh section A stallion, so also WPB) the foal is by a non Nsp stallion can this filly foal then go on this NPS appendix?
sorry if thats all a bit confusing.....

Just like to say I have seen Hopgarden Hanky Panky win at Warrington Show and ran across to congratualate the exhibitor, this pony is to die for! I am a riding pony judge and wish you all the luck with him, I shall follow his progress with excitement.
