bought a happy mouth bit for my horse over a month ago, she's just had two weeks off as she had a small cut on her lip. as i was putting bit wrap on the bit. i noticed that there was raised writing: ' happy mouth ' and 'made in ...... '
i just realised that where this writing is is where the cut is on my horse's lip!
has this happened to anyone else??
i'm not impressed! what a stupid thing to have... raised writing!

I dont rate the happy mouth bits.
I have tried on my sensitive mouthed horses, with no luck at all.
Mylers seem to keep them all happy or if not dressage/showing legal required PEE WEE bits are fab.

I treid allsorts on my fleshy mouthed cob mare she had a very small mouth according to the dentist, any stainless steel, happy mouth or remotly thick bit shredded her mouth at the sides, she now has a very narrow frecnh link cyprium copper mixed type mouth piece loose ring in a size half inch bigger than what she needs and she goes sweetly, she will have a pelham in for showing but not for everyday then i vaseline her mouth corners, Happy mouth in my case was deffo not a happy mouth !

I remember a thread on here a while back where someone had gone out hunting in one and it injured the pony's mouth, I think they can give something along the lines of a friction burn?

I have a photo of a horse where a happy mouth bit went right through. It was a hell of a mess. I hate these bits and the rider complained to the manufactorers and they couldn;t give a d**n

I had one where the plastic split & opened up then closed on the pony's tongue, pinching it in the split - won't use them now.
