My Arabian stallion El Sahir will be competing at HOYS this year ridden by Miss Emily Cooper, he qualified two weeks ago at Hand Equestrian Centre my daughter Vicki and I were delighted as just a few months ago our stables were burned to the ground by arsonists and we lost four of our horses in the fire. El Sahir was one of the lucky ones as he was away at the time staying with Antonia Mitchell at Stalmine in Blackpool for schooling. Three horses survived the fire, two suffered with burns on their heads and necks. So many people sent us so much love and support, some practical some caring thoughts and prayers. We were left with nothing but the three survivors and El Sahir (Merlin to his friends).
In 2002 our beloved Arabian Gelding Johara el Kheil went Ridden Arabian Champion at HOYS so Merlin has BIG hooves to fill. Sadly JJ (Johara el Kheil) perished in the fire, he will never be forgotten and we carry on in his spirit.
We are re-building our stables and soon Al Karif Arabians will live again and the horses can return to their new home at Kearsley near Bolton. It is thanks to all those who have helped us keep going in these difficult times.
We will enjoy HOYS for so many reasons! Best Wishes to everyone who have qualified and will be competing in 2010. We will be there in JJ's memory and Merlin's hope. Thanks to Emily and Team Cooper.
Give us a cheer at HOYS please! We are in on Friday morning in the Arabian Stallion Class.

My grandaughter Lauren ELizabeth Finn has qualified her 128 show pony Brookwater Lord of the Light. They qualified at East of England in June & were equal 1st at Lincoln county. Not bad from a wee family all the way from Northern Ireland!
