My 5 year old mare, who I have had 3 months, had a very sensitive mouth when I bought her. I got her sedated and the Dentist floated her teeth, but said there was nothing majorly wrong, just usual 5 yrs old teeth. She has been getting better and better, but yesterday flat lesson not good, wouldnt accept any touch on the bit. Today, put the jumps out and she was ok for trotting poles and jumped nicely, but as soon as I asked her to come back to me after the fence, head in the air as if she had been jabbed. Have rung horse dentist 3 times in the last week, but he not come back to me yet. Prob have to call vet out monday What are their teeth doing at 5.5 yrs?

Just had vet and dentist. Nothing what-so-ever wrong in Lilly's mouth!
I had put her in a loose ring snaffle, last week, as trainer kept nagging on about it. I usually ride her in a peewee as its just got a tiny slim straight bar with copper, which takes up no room in her little mouth.
Now I know she is ok, she is going straight back into peewee and I will get spare one cut up, to make it dressage legal.
