When your mare is scanned in foal, you will get a covering certificate, which you will then use to register the foal with. Once the foal has got its initial passport, you may extend it to other societies for overstamping. The show name you can make up anything, usually taking hints form the parents names, and are usualy asked to submit several choices. What type are you hoping to breed?

word of the wise ! dont go too big for a maiden mare as we did the foal was to large and took too long to part with !! as a result we lost the foal , the mare went on to have another 6 foals no problem , since then we have always started a maiden mare with a smaller stallion ,better to strech the cooking oven first !! look into your mares back breeding , ours had a small tb sire but the big geans were there and since then she has allways produced something thats made at least a hand bigger than it really should , its ussually grand perants that have the bigger geans , its worth checking trust me its not nice when you loose a foal ,go and have a look at Court Crooner ,he seems to be very under rated but we have the most fabulous 158 sh by him out of this mare who is only just 14.hands [ dont go by his pictures ] if you pm me i will give you my email address and email you some pics of our sh and mum

If you want to use a prefix you will have to register it through the central prefix register with whatever societies you want to register with.
