After watching the m and m classes last Wednesday at hoys i was interested to see different interpretations of the rules on trimming as laid out by various societies , with some of the ponies in top spots looking as if they could happily be plaited and tails clearly pulled not just tidied. I know this does not detract in any way from their way of going and many were a joy to watch and very smart. :)But wonder what is the point of the trimming rule when it obviously is not enforced.

The Judges were obviously not aware of the rules on trimming or chose to ignore them. One pony very highly placed had a mane which had been pulled to two inches, the breed showing rules say the mane if very thick can be discreetly thinned but should look as natural as possible. One of the Judges used to produce this breed so should know better.
