It is also important when training and having on probation up and coming judges. It is so easy to pass on ones predjudices. An example is a class I judged mixed m and m where the probationer liked all one type and would have placed them above better animals of his/her lesser preferred breed or type. That was an opportunity for me to nip this in the bud, nicely of course with reasoning behind the decisions. In an ideal world we should all have confidence that any judge would judge our ponies and horses fairly on the day and in line with the requirements of the class. Blue eyes are as much a part of a horses makeup as white markings, pink noses, colour and should not matter!

i personally do not like wall eyed horses but two blues is fine. A wall eyed horse puts me completly off, a horse with 2 blues needs to be a very nice horse, i prefer dark eyes.
Of course only my opinion. x

Well mine's married, and ginger (ish!), only difference is he's married to me, and yes he's lots of fun! Not sure how we got here though from horses with blue eyes! Incidentally someone posted a picture of the most gorgeous dun with blue eyes, if I was in a position I'd have it in an instant, blue eyes or not!

one of my broodmares has a wall eye. she suits it. New foal i have bought has blue eyes. I think it makes her look striking.

Drenrowstud, I also like all your ponies, and I dont think you would notice what colour eyes on such nice animals, especially the little A. The filly above is unusual though, not all blue eyes quite hit you like that - cant stop looking at her!

I personally prefer very dark brown eyes - my horse and I match perfectly ;D However, in the show ring they should not be taken into consideration - brown or blue is not important. That said OH's clydie mare has dark brown with sky blue flecks and they are the most amazing beautiful and attractive eyes I have ever seen - and she is also a ginger minge sabino . I was once told - image every horse in the class is a solid black, then remove the long hair and judge what is left and you will get the right horse - very wise words which maybe more people should consider when judging?
