Show Diary for the year

Would it be possible to have a Show Diary Thread with sub threads for each month? That way Show Secs. could post all their shows for the year in each monthly section and potential exhibitors would be able to find shows easier without ending up on page 112! Apologies if this has been suggested before

Dare I say that when I sent the same request to Saddle Soap they have responded by having a separate monthly diary!!!! Any chance you can do the same thing? It makes it so much easier for show secs. to add their events and competitors to find shows in a specific month.

Well I'll see what the other mods think, but actually there is the facility already to enter your shows, with details, in date order with a separate page for each month - it's called the calendar and you will find it at the top of your page in between 'members' and 'profile' - and all the shows entered on the calendar for the current month are shown at the bottom of the home page. If you click on them you should get further details - if there are none it's just because the organiser hasn't put any on - the facility is there for them to be added!

I only found it after I logged in, something I don't always do unless I intend to reply to a post, but unless I knew where to look, I don't think I would have found it. Can you tell me how you actually add dates to the calender? Judging by the small amount of posts actually on the site I guess a lot of other show secs don't know of its existence either! I didn't click on to the shows mentioned but assume by doing so their details are revealed. What happens if there is more than one show on the same day?

Right, if you click on calendar at the top of the page, the current month's calendar will be displayed on your screen. You can either scroll forward or back to find the month you want, or on the left there are little drop down boxes where you can select the month and year you want. When you have the month you want displayed on screen, you need to click on the date number you want - in the top right corner of the little box for that day, if that makes sense. Then you will get a page similar to the one you get when you reply to a thread, and you can add what details you want. Remember to put a title in as that's what will appear on the calendar and at the bottom of the home page during the selected month.

It doesn't matter if there is another show on the same day, it will still let you add your details.

Incidentally, we also have a 'news ticker' that we can have running across the top of the home page, which you can use to publicise your shows, or things like entry closing dates etc., just PM a mod with your requirements and we will accommodate you if we can, obviously it will be first come first served if two people want the same dates!
