reply to bombay. the dun is not know to me, it was my opinion that it did a good show good enough to go through. regarding my comment about the dun qualifying for olympia and your answer about if so it should not be entering for a local show. many horses/ponies who win at county shows/hoys/olympia go to local shows. i am told the champion dales at ast nights show has already qualified as an example.

pinkis4eva, yes she was confused, but he was right in what he said the pony did mess about, so in my opionion he was right to penalise them, we in fact should have been more on our job and perhaps worked him in for longer, its not the end of world, we payed for his opinion and we got it, thats whats showings all about. Congratulations on your place, like I said earlier it was a hugh class filled with quality animals so you have ever right to be grinning form ear to ear.

Fatty, aren’t you advertising penstrumbly April roses foal for sale? The horse in question hasn’t done well in any hoys or Olympia qualifiers this year, and hasn’t qualified, so why shout at the judges decision, I didn’t see her but was told she didn’t look well to the point where people who knew her in the past, didn’t even recognise her, I was also told she didn’t stand for the judge.
my pony was 5th at hoys a few weeks ago and is going to Olympia, but if my horse misbehaved, I expect to be dropped, you don’t judge on past performance, don’t we all kick off about judges on here that do that.
Yes I did take supreme under a judge who hates the bones of me, but he stood there and judged what he saw on the day and put his personal feelings aside,
I take my hat off to him!!!

just wanted to say had a great time at n w yesterday qualified for top 10 with my dales and although did not get a place was thrilled to be there in the evening performance. the original class was packed with over 20 top quality ponies whom on the whole behave impeccably - so to stand in the top ten was fantastic! well done everyone and congratulations to the top six!!!

Surely a judge can only judge on what he sees on the day? not on what it has done at previous shows. I was only there as a spectator, but thought the judgeing was very fair, its nice to see animals placed for what they are and not the names and faces that go with them!!!!!!!!!!!

personally i think its a bloody shame when a 'producer' goes to a riding club level championship show to prove a point. come on how desperate are u to win a sash. ben is a stunning pony but this is like taking candy from a child. was all this to prove a point or as u told many people in the line up that ur judging him (the judge) in a hoys class early next yr so its a favour for favour thing. for anyone who questions i wasnt competing so no sour grapes for me just a barrell of laughs for the desperado!!!! ;D

Since when was I a producer??
As I don’t even speak to the judge, how do I know if he is going to one of the shows I am judging next year??
As for taking candy from a child, there were about 5 ponies in the NOVICE C/D class that I have seen in hoys qualifiers, are you going to say anything about that? there were ponies in the supreme that have been to hoys more than my Ben, so what exactly is your problem,
shall we start by going through all the supreme’s at other show for example, festival of champions, uk showing, prestige events, should all these people who have taken the supreme hang their head in shame, because I’ve seen a few of them at hoys as well. The rules do not state novice ponies only, so what is your point?
Have you not heard of people bringing ponies out for a practice before big events?

We were there, no rules were broken, as Harryman said lots of Hoys ponies competed. The quality was high which IMO is great. We were 3rd in Harrymans class and we had no complaints, the right pony won the class and had every right to be there.
Thanks to the organisers who ran the show so well, we had a great day!

harryman, read my reply to bombay as the horse in question was a dun who had qualified Olympia not april, are you paranoid!!! As we all have our opinions on judging and must stand by their decisions the only one point to make is when watching your horse as long as the one you would take home and continuing putting your hand in your pocket for is the one you take then we go home happy, winner or losser.

harryman isnt a producer so where did you get that from, workers 123? harryman has done a wonderful job with Ben from the very start of his ridden showing career to the top pony he is today! HUGE CONGRATS on your supreme yesterday and hope you win Olympia!

MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU TRACEY your win was very well deserved and yes i think as has been said before this is an open show which i would take to mean open to anyone.for 2 years previous to this the winner was having a practice before hoys or olympia and no one complained then perhaps as others have indicated it is once again the green eyed monster such a shame why not just go and enjoy yourselves. good luck at olympia xxx

Fatty, you brought her name up and questioned the judge’s decision as to why she wasn’t placed, I was just telling the obvious reason why.
Thank you bigmama, why don’t people just ask for a few tips on showing instead of getting upset when they dont win, I would be happy to help anybody.
Thankyou jilly

since workers123 brings this subject up what about judges concentrating on judging and not competing, to avoid any doubts being raised

well there wouldnt be many top class ponies on the circuit then would there and not just in the m&ms but in all sections in general suppose it would make it easier for some. At the end of the day I know id rather be sat at the end of a line up of excellent strong types than at the top above of not so good competition. I think its enjoyable to watch a truely stunning pony doing its job and doing it well and I have nothing against these ponies coming out to the local champs, after all they live round here too.
